I’ve been a @Castricone fan since he got here but this…this makes him a legend! https://t.co/0H6wLdneeI
— ChattaDawg (@chatta_dawg) November 15, 2022
You were literally replacing a UW broadcasting legend and have done it quite well with the professionalism, personality, passion and humility you pour into every broadcast. THANK YOU!
— Michael Hoyt (@Hoyt4UW) December 30, 2022
@Castricone you’re amazing
— og dot (@DawgsOnTop_) December 4, 2020
We always mute the tv and turn on your broadcast, even if it’s a play ahead. You filled some very favored shoes, Tony and brought your own passion. There’s no faking that! 👍🏼💜💛
— Kimberly Hayes (@bkhayes63) December 30, 2022
Let's talk about sports on the radio for a second.
— Jason A. Churchill (@ProspectInsider) February 4, 2018
When it comes to play-by-play and analyst teams, they're less than a season in and the chemistry between Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton is sensational.
I'm telling you, this is hard to accomplish.
I strongly urge all of you Dawgs fans: When you aren't AT the games, find a way — FIND A FREAKING WAY — to mute the TV and listen to Castricone and Hamilton call Huskies basketball games. It was great with Rondeau and Hamilton and it's already great with Tony and Jason.
— Jason A. Churchill (@ProspectInsider) February 4, 2018
No, THANK YOU Tony. Often times the broadcasts you guys put out are better than what ESPN or any other station has. Always love the energy excitement that you guys bring. The team of @CamCleeland and @EliseMWoodward and you has been great for Huskies athletics. Have a great 2023
— Alex G (@GoDawgs999) December 30, 2022
Bob Rondeau is amazing and I thought no way UW could hire anyone as close to him. Somehow they did with Tony. Great voice, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic at the right moments. He'll be calling many great moments in basketball and football over the years. #GoDawgs
— Kris (@HuskiesFan19) February 4, 2018
I’ve been meaning to say this, was listening to the Michigan v. Army game on SiriusXM a few weeks back and we are truly BLESSED to have @Castricone on our call. He is so talented, that Michigan broadcast was… not good. And that is MICHIGAN. https://t.co/NXKOpBOZqB
— Coker (@coker_UDub) September 30, 2019
Got to meet @Castricone (great guy and awesome announcer!) on our flight down to Vegas to root on our @UW_MBB ! @bossepants1 #TougherTogether #GoDawgs ! 🐶🏀👍🏻 pic.twitter.com/KmcFa5Vlrq
— Mitch Bosse (@bossehawks) March 14, 2019
You can never replace Rondeau but @Castricone is rapidly winning a permanent place in my purple heart
— Not Your Ba (@Charliefourth) November 24, 2020
Having Tony @Castricone on the call for Husky games definitely takes the sting out of Rondeau retiring. He's really good. We've been fortunate to have fantastic play by play guys and commentators here in Seattle. I feel like @Castricone and @heygoldy are the next wave.
— Richard Baze (@RichardBaze) January 12, 2018
We all miss Rondeau but @Castricone has done a great job. He’ll be a legend before long, as well. https://t.co/7aUMJCeyMj
— Andrew Long (@andrew_goodguys) December 1, 2018
I’ll always miss Rondeau, but @Castricone has proven through his first year calling @UW_MBB and now calling @UW_Football that he’s the real deal. Gonna be a good year or football #GoDawgs
— Dan Lamb (@DannyJ0124) September 16, 2018
I am so glad we have you in purple & gold, Tony. Fantastic play-by-play and all class as a person.
— Joel Dombrow (@joeldombrow) February 11, 2022
Thank you!!
The @UW family is proud and for good reason. The more I watch @Castricone in his first year I see he gets it. Rondeau was special and I’m confident TC will be the same for years to come. Well done @UWAthletics and TC, welcome to the purple and gold family!
— Jer Wohlgemuth (@jerwohlgemuth) June 10, 2018
How about a Mt. Rushmore of broadcasters in the Seattle market?
— Srly (@Bdoggroast) May 7, 2020
I'd say:
Niehaus
Calabro
Rondeau (Castricone is going to be a legend, though)
Blackburn.
Any Husky fans that haven't listened to episode 1 of @Castricone's new podcast should do so immediately. It is an awesome low-key interview with hoops coach Mike Hopkins and it is essential listening. Husky Nation is so lucky to have both of them.https://t.co/jnEBFcZw0U
— AIRWOLF! (@redmond_BDTW) July 29, 2019
Whoever planned the Rondeau to Tony transition process is a genius. If it's Tony good on you. A giant Mic to fill and honoring the team and your predecessor is a great start to doing it well.
— Joshua Tufts (@JoshuaTufts) July 26, 2018
Tony, is the truth. Def knows our history even more commendable considering he came from the east coast
— Dre (@rivers253) August 21, 2018
My guy Tony @Castricone is killing it on all fronts right now. Social media, Coach’s Show, and behind the mic. What a great hire!
— James Trumbull (@ogjtrum) August 24, 2018

Easily one of my favorite plays! @Castricone ‘s call is next level! Play is great on its own but Tony’s call does it for me, you can hear his excitement and intensity, I will never get tired of watching and listening #GoDawgs https://t.co/wWKvRJRjJd
— Jake Jenkins (@jmjenkins13) August 15, 2020
Great call again tonight Tony. Big time thankful for the TuneIn Sync Up. Go Dawgs!
— Marc Galvagno (@mgalvagno) November 29, 2020
Great call tonight I turn off the volume and tune to you guys every week. Love your enthusiasm
— Kevin Skraban (@KevinSkraban) November 29, 2020
I agree. We had to drive between Seattle and Lynden and listened on the car radio. We felt like we were right there. The pxp call was absolutely ace.
— RobW (@MarxandSparx) March 4, 2019
Man, wish you were the voice of the tigers!
— Craig Yardley (@lakotadog67) August 5, 2021
. @Castricone has done an awesome job not only immersing himself in UW history and tradition but has also given us cool inside looks into UW Ahletics and behind-the-scenes that I know everyone enjoys! https://t.co/Kbd8ZYUHb7

Great job this year, Tony! Tough to replace a legend and you did it with grace and professionalism. Hope we get to hear you for many decades to come.
— Jason Horton (@jhort89) January 2, 2019
@Castricone you've done an AMAZING job of taking over for a legend but I'm really looking forward next year and how you're going to up your game with all of the young pups that @CoachHop is bringing in for @UW_MBB !
— Mike Martin (@HowlinHusky) May 22, 2019

Really appreciate you tony…always tough to come after a legend…but your nailing it!
— Ilikecheese (@Flowerboiee24) August 24, 2019
@Castricone It can’t be easy following a legend like Bob Rondeau, but I think you are doing one heck of a job in doing so. You’re doing a fabulous job in representing the @UWAthletics, all while carving out your own style. Really enjoying all your work. Thank you!
— Fred Harlan (@FredHarlan4) November 10, 2019
Tony,
— Scott Bedford (@ScottBedford17) September 29, 2019
You are making your mark on Husky football. Your on air intelligence of husky football and what you bring through the airway will make you a legend. I love listening to you.. Go Dawgs…..
@Castricone It must be something having replaced a legend, but you are really good. Keep it up!
— Derek Burlingame (@DerekBurlingame) October 13, 2019
So glad you’re here. Tough to replace a legend but you have already won over this Dawg! Keep up the great work and let’s whoop up on Tammy and her War Damn Eagles 🦅
— Doug Best (@MVdawg88) August 29, 2018
You guys are awesome to listen to! You paint a vivid picture! I loved Rondeau! But, Tony brings a different energy! Which is a welcomed difference!#uwbballbrightfuture#GoDawgs
— Tony Hudson (@Hudson103Tony) March 25, 2019
So awesome listening to @Castricone and @jasondhamilton last night. Muted Bill Walton and synced up tv to audio.
— Bob LeMaster (@trplb) March 2, 2018
It is a great point. For the entirety of pro sports in Seattle we just cycle thru legends. I feel the same way about Castricone too.
— Jeff Mustonen – Penix 4 Heisman (@UWMoose) September 30, 2021
Thanks so much for continuing to engage with Husky Nation & put-out this type of awesome content. Replacing a legend in an unenviable task, but @UWAthletics definitely found "the right fit". We're lucky to have you. #GoDawgs
— Maximus (@TheKnausadelics) February 2, 2019
@Castricone hey man, replacing a legend is an impossible task and I have to say you're doing a hell of a job. Our kids a lucky to have an advocate like you.
— Aaron Leonard (@aleonard7) March 20, 2019
I wonder if @Castricone comes up with his own interview questions for the Go Huskies Poadcast. They are fantastic questions and those interviews with Petersen are amazing.
— Rigel Wise (@RigelWise) September 6, 2019
How do I know that @Castricone and @jasondhamilton are awesome at their job? Well, their words made me jump in my office on that #Thybulle windmill. It's as simple as that. #TougherTogether
— Edoardo Mazza (@Edoteque) March 15, 2019
Finally had a chance to sit back and listen to #1. I cannot wait to enjoy #2-4. @Castricone does a masterful job having candid, fun conversation. Plus, you find out early what beer he and @Coach_Hopkins like to sip, and get a summer rainstorm in the background! 🍺☔️ must listen! https://t.co/AI6rxfRfb9
— Dawgnosticator (@purpledawgz) August 12, 2019
@Castricone I’ve listened to a couple of your podcasts. Pretty good stuff. You seem like a good dude that would be fun to have a few beers with. Cheers! 🍺
— Martinson (@MattyMartinson) August 13, 2019
A shoutout that includes exquisite use of Yiddish is my favorite kind. And @Castricone is killing his VOTH role 💜💛
— Leah (@uwleah) September 5, 2018

— Swaggy.P. (@Plechner77776) February 4, 2018
I'm ngl wasn't sold on @Castricone at first to replace Bob Rondeau but now I pray he's here just as long as Bob if not longer. Both uniquely talented in their own areas but both great at the same time!
— Patrick (@pattytrav2) June 14, 2021
