Brick in the Street
Written by: Tony Castricone

Sometimes I feel like a brick in the street
With the weight I carry and the things I’ve seen
And the whole world walks all over me
Sometimes I feel like a brick in the street

Just cracked and crooked and surrounded by trash
Like yesterday’s news and cigarette ash
At home with the dealers, the whores and the cheats
Sometimes I feel like a brick in the street

Ohhhh, I am stronger than I look
but it ain’t as strong as I’m supposed to be
And I ain’t smart, but I have learned
that to the mud I shall return
and so will all the others just like me

Just one of a billion that The Mason made
Stuck in a pattern we just can’t break
Looking up at the stars that are out of reach
Sometimes I feel like a brick in the street

Ohhhh, I am stronger than I look
but it ain’t as strong as I’m supposed to be
And I ain’t smart, but I have learned
that to the mud I shall return
and so will all the others just like me

I’m bound to a few that keep me close
We’re stuck together like the grave and the ghost
But supporting them is my destiny
so I’ll do my best as a brick in the street
Sometimes I feel like a brick in the street
