Gray
Written by: Tony Castricone (2016)

Maybe you see with crystal clarity
Maybe right and wrong comes to you in 20/20
Black and white, in perfect light, to you is plain as day
But I see gray
I see gray

Maybe you’re yellow, fear has you paralyzed
Maybe you see red, with righteous anger in your eyes
Maybe green with envy, ’cause someone else got their way
But I see gray
I see gray

Gray don’t mean I’m naive
God knows it’s worth fighting for the things that you believe
But truth is like the wind
It’s real, but it’s hard to hold
when you don’t know all that you don’t know

Maybe you see a perfect chance to judge
Don’t matter if you’re Red or Blue, you ain’t gonna budge
’cause that would mean you’re listening to what I have to say
When I see gray
I see gray

Maybe you hear your enemy in this song
Maybe God is head-in-hands, screaming “you’re both wrong”
But you can’t hear
if you look in the mirror
and all you see’s a saint
When I see gray
I see gray

Gray don’t mean I’m naive
God knows it’s worth fighting for the things that you believe
But truth is like the wind
It’s real, but it’s hard to hold
when you don’t know all that you don’t know

Maybe you see with crystal clarity
Maybe right and wrong comes to you in 20/20
Black and white, in perfect light, to you is plain as day
But I see gray
I see gray, gray, gray
I see gray
