Something to Love
Written by: Tony Castricone (2016)
Sometimes I wonder why I root for my team
I’m just a mad man yelling at a TV screen
Even if they win the big one, I won’t get no title ring
I guess I just need something to love
Sometimes I wonder why I play guitar
Put callouses on my fingers and pour out my heart
Nothing that I write ever makes it very far
I guess I just need something to love
Something to hope for
Something to believe
Something to make me feel like I’ve got something up my sleeve
Something to shine a little light when the whole world fades to black
Something, if I’m lucky, that just might love me back
Sometimes I wonder why I’m such a fool
Placing every pretty girl up on a pedastal
I try to play the game but end up breaking every rule
I guess I just need something to love
Sometimes I wonder why I still pray
I swear that I’m just talking to myself most days
But I fold my hands and bow my head ’til nothing’s left to say
I guess I just need something to love
Chorus
Sometimes I wonder where to go from here
So many pieces of my heart are lying in the rearview mirror
But that’s when I’m reminded that our purpose is so clear
We just need something to love
We just need something to love
